Earlier this year in May I read the 2019 novel Daisy Jones & The Six which I enjoyed very much. I started it after reading two biographies of Sandy Denny and the novel covered a lot of the same territory of a young woman starting out in the music industry in the late 1960’s and throughout the 1970’s except the Daisy Jones fictional story took place in Los Angeles rather than Sandy Denny’s London. I knew there was a television series based on Daisy Jones novel and Becky and I started watching it recently. We've watched seven episodes. It’s very entertaining and the producers certainly got the look and feel of 1970’s LA on the Sunset Strip down. Laurel Canyon too. The lead role was played by Riley Keough who we found out last night is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley and her mother was Lisa Marie Presley which also means her stepfather was Michael Jackson. Her father was a musician too so she has the background. She was very good in the role and we’re looking forward to watching the rest of the series.
We're taking our time watching this series and not binging. There are 10 episodes in the series and we're enjoying it but it's not the kind of show you want to keep watching to see what happens. We'll finish up over the next couple of weeks.
