Becky's Art Opening and Artist Talk

Becky's art opening reception and artist talk today was very successful and well attended at the Dolce Volvo Art Center on the Niagara County Community College campus. She had been working on it very hard for several months. She was first offered the show in mid October so that wasn't really a lot of time to prepare a show of that magnitude. Fortunately she had been working in her studio regularly on new works over the past several years. The artwork looked wonderful in that great space.

The opening reception was from 1 pm to 3 pm with an artist talk at 2. We arrived at about 12:30 and fortunately it was a nice day and an easy drive. Because of the time of day the opening was predominately attended by students and retired folks of which many were artist friends of Becky.

The students seemed very interested in the art work and Becky had quickly slipped into her teacher mode during her artist talk. Following the talk she had many students hanging around her to ask questions and to talk about the art. Becky and the gallery director Jim had previously selected some art books that were displayed in the gallery and it was interesting to see so many students sitting on the benches looking at the books.

We stayed until about 3 pm and then drove home and once again it was clear and a nice ride back to the city. We were looking forward to going out to dinner afterward.
