reflections, ruminations, ramblings and rants on music, books, beer, politics, technology, media, family, etc, etc. from a retired old man, music collector, librarian, political observer, technology geek, veteran, history buff, beer enthusiast, sci-fi fan, obsessive mixtaper and former DJ. I've also gathered writings from the past several years posted in various social media platforms. This blog has become an editing tool for my writings and everything here is a work in progress.

Time Has Come Today - Vinyl Spins
Vinyl Spins. Time Has Come Today - The Chambers Brothers, 1967. Psychedelic soul music. I got this in early 1968 shortly after it was released and then saw them in a small club, Electric Factory, a couple of months later. Also two festivals in 68 & 69... The Quaker City Rock Festival and The Atlantic City Pop Festival.
In 1969 at the Atlantic City Pop Festival the Chambers Brothers were an unannounced last minute fill in for Crosby, Stills & Nash who cancelled. They followed Iron Butterfly on Friday night after an extra long In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ended with the sound of a cowbell and a surprise Time Has Come Today. Crowd went crazy.
