Democracy Book Challenge. Day 15 of the MAGA dystopia. The Fixers: The Bottom-Feeders, Crooked Lawyers, Gossipmongers, and Porn Stars Who Created the 45th President by Joe Palazzolo and Michael Rothfeld, 2020. This was a terrifying and weirdly comic book about the underbelly of capitalism at its worse examples of greed, lust, corruption and ambition. Reality TV, trash tabloids, pornography, high end real estate, creepy celebrities and sleazy lawyers all came together to get trump into office. After reading this in early 2020 it was easy to see why the corrupt sleazy scumbag likes to pardon other corrupt sleazy scumbags. It was still shocking to see how so many lawyers and media tycoons enabled such a grifter to get elected to lead America and we all certainly suffered for it. Now it's the state of our democracy. Could it had gotten any worse... now we got part 2 and the muskrat too.
