reflections, ruminations, ramblings and rants on music, books, beer, politics, technology, media, family, etc, etc. from a retired old man, music collector, librarian, political observer, technology geek, veteran, history buff, beer enthusiast, sci-fi fan, obsessive mixtaper and former DJ. I've also gathered writings from the past several years posted in various social media platforms. This blog has become an editing tool for my writings and everything here is a work in progress.

Best of Chess Soul - Vinyl Spins
Vinyl Spins. Soul: The Best of Chess Checker Cadet - Various Artists, 1984. I got this wonderful soul compilation album in the mid 80's as good material for spinning records at that dive bar on Grant Street. This has some of my favorite old 45 singles soul songs. Songs from this album in high rotation at that bar was Hold On by The Radiants, Fontella Bass's Rescue Me and Jackie Ross doing Take Me For A Little While. And of course those Ramsey Lewis songs. Well, I did play almost everything here.
