Democracy Book Challenge. Day 20 of the MAGA Dystopia. One Nation, Two Realities: Dueling Facts in American Democracy by Morgan Marietta & David Barker, 2019. I read this carefully researched but challenging book in May 2020. The political climate has become much worse based on differing value systems and a very deep distrust of authority. The book carefully points out that the MAGAts embracing media propaganda, hyper-partisanship and ideological biases also support the authoritarianism which we now see happening in America. The authors have based their conclusions on extensive surveys and experiments which are fascinatingly detailed in the book.
