The stopped escalator wasn't the only technical problem the orange turd encountered that day. The teleprompter he was using during his speech stopped working too. Another issue was the sound system being used by the members of the assembly audience which was faulty. Apparently the translations for some members were not coming through their sound systems.
He then went on the accuse the UN of a "triple sabotage" and has demanded an investigation. He claims the UN is out to get him and demanded the people responsible be arrested.
It turns out that after the UN technology team looked into the problems it turns out that all of the issues came from the president's own inept tech staff. Even shutting down the escalator came from one of his own people and the teleprompter was completely in the hands of his staff.
