Last night Becky and I watched most of the last game of this year's world series as the Texas Rangers won game five to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5 - 0 to take the series 4 games to 1. Sadly the Arizona pitcher had a no hitter against the Rangers going into the 7th inning where he gave up a run and left the game. The Rangers would score four more runs in the top of the 9th. This was the first World Series ever won by the Rangers. They deserved it.
We had been hoping the Philadelphia Phillies were going to the World Series again this year after losing the series to Houston last year. Both the Phillies and the Astros lost their league championship games to the Diamondbacks and the Rangers. The D-Backs had found a way to overcome the power home running hitting of the Phillies by walking those guys. Phillies sure left a lot of men on base throughout the series after pounding the D-Backs early on.
Overall it was an entertaining world series and postseason playoffs. We watched the NL playoffs and actually none of the AL teams until the world series. I really don't pay attention to baseball very much over the course of a season and usually don't watch any games until the playoffs. Then I'll watch the NLCS and the World Series. That's about it.
