We celebrated our granddaughter Clara's fifth birthday at our house on Saturday along with her other grandparents Dick and Iris. So we had a nice family gathering with Katie and Todd along with Henry, Clara and Violet. Her birthday was actually on Sunday but since that was the day they were driving back to Philly they decided to celebrate her birthday the day before.
Katie and Todd wanted dinner from Kostas so they took care of ordering the food. We had a table full of their classic menu choices including chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, moussaka, pastitso, greek potatoes, pita bread, and greek salad. Iris brought over a fresh fruit salad and Katie baked a chocolate pudding pie by special request from the birthday girl.
We had a wonderful time and we especially enjoyed Clara opening her birthday presents although she did have a moment when she thought she wasn't getting what she wanted but fortunately that was a brief moment. Clara then loved her gifts. Violet loved them too and especially that special doll.
Everyone loved Katie's birthday pie. Clara took care of the candles.
It's hard to believe she is turning five years old. She's looking forward to going back to school next week to celebrate her birthday with her classmates and her mother baking cupcakes for the class.
