The Bitter Taste of Murder by Camilla Trinchieri, 2021
What a great title for a murder mystery novel. Just finished this today. I read this wonderful book in about a week. This is the follow-up to her previous novel Murder in Chianti which I also read in about a week in June of this year. Both books are set in the Tuscan region of Italy.
This book is about the murder by poison of a prominent wine critic about a year after the previous murder that former NYC detective Nico Doyle helped to solve. Now he's at it again. I really enjoyed this book and it was a quick read with plenty of descriptions of wine and food in the Tuscan countryside restaurants which embellish the story. There are two more books in the series now and I will get to them soon.
