Bad Back and a New Mattress

For the past couple of months Becky has had some recurring back problems. Recently it has been especially bad after sleeping in our bed. It's no fun waking up to a sore back. Her back improved while we were staying at Katie's house in Philly but then she had a relapse when we were back at home and sleeping in our regular bed.

Becky made arrangements with a doctor to go to physical therapy for her back. The sessions were helping but something needed to be done about our mattress which we've had for a very long time.

She began to go out to furniture companies and looking at new mattresses. She went out several times and tried out many mattresses. She narrowed down what she though she needed which was a combination of a firm mattress but with some give to it. She decided to take me with her to City Mattress and try to make a decision.

On Thursday of last week we both went to City Mattress and tried out several mattresses that Becky had previously checked. We had a very efficient salesperson helping us out. He also pointed out some other options. In the end we decided to buy a new Serta mattress.

We arranged to have it delivered the following Tuesday and to have our bedroom mattress moved to the guest room and then have that mattress taken out of the house. That other really old mattress we've had since the 80's.

Two very nice men came and delivered our new mattress on Tuesday morning. They were very efficient and everything was set up in about a half hour. They also marveled at the quality of the old 80's mattress they were removing from our home. They especially liked the old box spring which was probably going to a new home somewhere.

So now we got to try it out and see how it feels. We have 30 days to change it for another if it doesn't work out. We'll see. Becky is also ordering a foam mattress cover that will give it some more comfort.
