I had been watching the site for about a month now and finally decided to post something. This fondue set has been sitting up on the third floor for years. It was given to us as a gift sometime in the late 90's or early 00's. We never opened the package. We were done with fondue back in the 70's and really had no desire to start doing it again. There was a brief comeback for fondue around the time we got this gift.
So I posted this picture and another one of the inside packaging and got an immediate response. By the end of the day there were about fifteen people asking to be considered for the gifting. Yes, gifting. There is no selling on this site and items are only given as gifts. They have a system of selecting the recipient but it is always up to the giver. I used the random number generator which picked the number 3 from the list of all the people who commented except for Dave. The winner turned out to be a neighbor around the corner on Elam street. I contacted her using the PM and gave her my address and said the fondue kit would be on the porch.
She came by a little later just as Becky and I were getting ready to go out for a walk and we met her in front of the house. She was very excited to get the fondue kit and was looking forward to trying it out with her husband.
So after that success I'm looking around the house for something else we want to get rid of and someone may really want to have.
