We live in a sick society. America is broken in so many ways but the gun violence is a red flare that the whole world sees and loathes. Today I saw on TV an interview with a child who survived the most recent mass shooting last night at a bowling alley in a small Maine town who spoke to the cameras asking "why do people do this?" Another shooting took place in the town at a bar by the same gunman. 16 people were shot to death and another 20+ injured. The murderer is still at large.
It was seeing and hearing that little girl that made me want to write about this issue at this time. There have been close to 500 shootings so far in 2023 with nearly 600 people being murdered. It's time to call out the NRA as a terrorist organization who take money from industry toxic evil leaders who buy people in congress and allow murderous racists psychopaths with military firearms to slaughter the people of America. It's time for serious gun control and a good start would be to outright ban all military style automatic weapons for civilian use. Then repeal the 2nd amendment or at least modify it to emphasize the militia aspect. If the gun nuts want a machine gun then go join the army.
Latest news identifies the shooter as an army reservist and certified gun instructor with mental health problems. Big manhunt.
