Albright Knox Art Museum

Today Becky and I went over to the Albright-Knox for the first time since it has opened following their extensive renovations and expansion. We also renewed our membership. The new building was amazing and very impressive. Buffalo now has a world class art museum.

We spent nearly two hours walking around and exploring the collections and the new building. It was spectacular. With a museum membership we have free admission any time we want to visit the gallery and we should do it a lot more often because there is so much more to see. We could have stayed there until closing at 8 pm. There was just so much to see. My hip was acting up and getting painful so we couldn't just keep going plus we wanted to go out to dinner too.

We had parked behind the museum in the back and planned to walk over to The Terrace restaurant after our time at the Albright. I checked on my phone while sitting in the gallery to see about a table and saw that there was nothing available until 8:30 pm. Oh well. I thought that might have been an issue. The restaurant turned out to be booked all weekend too. It is Restaurant Week.

I was ready with some options and after leaving the Albright our backup plan was to drive down to Allen Street and try one of the restaurants there.

We are looking to many more visits to the Albright over the coming months and years.
