Speed Humps Coming Soon

We got this flyer today on the windshield of our car. About three weeks ago a city worker was spray painting the marks on the street near our house and I went out and talked to him to find out what was going on. The guy was very talkative and filled me in on the scheduled plans. He said the work would be done sometime in August.

I talked with some neighbors about the speed humps and many are not very happy with having one in front of their homes. They feel they are dangerous to their vehicles and could also negatively impact property values. Some will be calling city hall this coming week to complain.

Becky doesn't like having one of them so close to our house that it will affect us every time we come and go in and out of our driveway. On the other hand I have sat on our front porch and have seen the constant speeding cars and trucks coming down our street all day and especially at rush hour. I think it may be somewhat amusing to watch these commuters navigate the new speed humps throughout the neighborhood. We will certainly see how this all shakes out.
