New Year's Day 2021

First day of the new year 2021 was very quiet which is how it normally is for us. Katie and Todd usually go back home a day or two before New Year's and we would have gone out to dinner early on New Year's Eve and then spend the rest of the night in front of the TV. The next morning we would get up and watch the Rose Bowl Parade on the Home & Garden Channel where they would spend a lot of time talking about the flowers on the floats. This year was different. There wasn't a parade because the virus cancelled it and we had some Premier League soccer on the television and then later some cooking shows. No college football bowl games on the TV for me.

My chore for the day was to install our new Eero wireless WiFi mesh network system i the house. One unit attached to the router, one unit in the dining room near the kitchen door and one upstairs on the desk in Sean's old room. So far I haven't seen any significant difference. Time will tell.

Becky stayed home puttering around the house and didn't go over to her studio. I did my usual pandemic thing with music listening, book reading and blog writing. I also started on putting together a new mega mix of blues music.

She made us a wonderful chili dinner with cornbread. She made the chili in the InstaPot and is getting much more comfortable using that cooking device. A very nice holiday dinner.

In the evening Becky watched that old 60's movie Barefoot in the Park with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda. A quiet day and a quiet evening to start the new year.
