Today we took little Autumn to the Zoo while Sean and Ashley took Andrew to a pre-season Bills game. When they left this morning Autumn hardly seemed to notice. She was very happy hanging around with us. Then we packed her up into the stroller, put one of my hats on her and headed down the street to the Zoo. It was also a very hot day so we had plenty of water packed to go.
It was a special time at the Zoo because of the ongoing Zoomination Lantern Festival and the displays of dinosaurs and other animals along with the special lights and other displays. Autumn loved it all. There was so much to see. I think she was very surprised to see the real animals after all of the colorful displays of dinosaurs.
This second photo of Autumn is her in the Giraffe House gazing at the giraffes eating.
It was hot and we spent about an hour and a half at the zoo then we had to come home. I'm sure Andrew would have loved the dinosaur displays too. Hopefully when they come back to the Buffalo area over Labor Day weekend they will be able to take him to the zoo for a couple of hours. It will be special for him with his current love of dinosaurs.
Becky and I are looking forward to going over there some evening in the Fall to experience the light displays of the Zoomination Festival. We did it last year and had a wonderful time there.
