Dietrich Visit - A Job

Dietrich Schifeling came by our house this morning to talk about some projects in our home that we wanted his input on. I had asked him a couple of months ago at Dick Schifeling's downtown party about coming by and looking at our house to give us some input on fixing up some problems like our porch and some of the windows. He agreed to come by, take a look and give us some suggestions. He has done some great home renovations and we really did want to have his opinion about some of our potential projects.

It took some time to arrange his visit because of my surgery and recovery along with our going on vacation but last week we made arrangements to meet this weekend. Earlier this week we decided on Saturday morning and he came by a little before 10am.

He agreed to do the work we needed on the porch and the front steps. He will come by in mid September. We walked around the house and pointed out some issues. He was helpful with his insights. The window sashes were a problem and he doesn't do that work. We would need someone who specializes in that kind of a project.

He could fix the plumbing hole in the wall in the upstairs bedroom behind the bed. No problem. He also said he could put step railings doing to the basement and up to the third floor. Also the ceiling panels on the third floor.

Then we looked at the window in the kitchen where we developed a leak recently. He is going to fix the little roof over the window in the Fall. While we were there we noticed some bees going under the roof tiles. This was something new and they are swarming all around that spot today. Looks like another problem developing.
