Exploring my album collection earlier today with a kitchen listening session with the first four albums from Creedence Clearwater Revival that were released in the late 1960's. This was a lot of fun. For instance I can't remember when I listened to their first self titled album all the way through. It's been some time and that includes the others in this session too. It was interesting hearing some of those deep cuts that still sound great along with the many hits and familiar tracks.
I was also fortunate to have seen this band perform live four times during this early period. In 1968 I saw them in a small rock club... the Electric Factory. Then again that year at the The Quaker City Rock Festival at the Spectrum. Both shows in Philadelphia. Then in 1969 at the Atlantic City Pop Festival and then in Chicago in 1970 at either the Chicago Auditorium or the Aragon Ballroom back when I was stationed at a nearby Naval base.
This listening session:
- Creedence Clearwater Revival, 1968
- Bayou Country, 1969
- Green River, 1969
- Willy and the Poor Boys, 1969
