Winter is coming after a relatively mild season so far. Today there have been phone and online messages from Erie County declaring a Winter Weather Emergency. The wind has started blowing and there has been some off and on snow throughout the morning and early afternoon. There still isn't any snow accumulating in our neighborhood but it's been snowing much harder in other areas.
There has been lots of talk about the Bills playoff game in Orchard Park tomorrow and there was a call for volunteers to shovel snow in the stadium. Just a little while ago an announcement was made that the game has been moved to 4:30 pm Monday afternoon because of dangerous winter conditions predicted at game time tomorrow. Also a travel ban will go into effect later this evening.
We have not been able to complain about the weather throughout this fall and winter up until now. I only shoveled snow twice so far this season and both times it was only an inch or so. I've had the snowblower ready but haven't come close to needing it. That may change over the next couple of days.
I'm glad we got out last night for some dinner and social activity. The weather forecast is showing snowy weather all this coming week starting today. It should be interesting. The only thing I worry about is losing power with all this strong wind.
