Reggae All Day Pt. 4. One of the highlights of 1973 for me besides getting discharged from the military and moving back to Philadelphia was seeing the reggae movie The Harder They Come. It was playing at a theater in my old neighborhood when I was home on leave and I gathered some friends together to see it. They really didn’t know anything about reggae music or Jamaican culture and it was a real eye-opener for them. I loved the movie and bought the Jimmy Cliff soundtrack album shortly after that weekend. There was a lot of wonderful music in that movie. A couple of other great reggae movies of that time were Rockers (1978) and Babylon (1980).
