This evening Becky and I went over to Niagara Street to an art show closing reception at the Raft of Sanity gallery. This was our second time attending an event in this gallery that is located in the old Better Wire Products where I worked in 1979-1981.
This was the closing reception for a special show that included couples artists. There were six couples and we knew both partners from all the couples except one. I spent a good deal of time with that new person who was the husband of a new UB art faculty member we met last week at a Hallwalls reception. This couple had moved to Buffalo about six months before the pandemic hit and it was interesting hearing his perspective on the city and he was also very interested in my experience living here for over forty years after having moved here from a different much larger city.
We did have lots of interesting conversations during the nearly two hours we were at the gallery. I also managed to have a couple of glasses of red wine. The show was very good with lots of wonderful pieces on display.
