The Art Stool

The seat of a stool from the painting studio of Becky's mother now sitting unused and alone in amongst the artworks of mother, father and daughter.

I was over at Becky's studio recently helping her move and organize some of her large paintings in the storage areas. She's been very busy getting ready for her upcoming art show at NCCC next month.

So I found this old stool. Becky took this stool from her mother's painting studio many years ago and moved it into her studio. Apparently my mother in law Catherine got the stool from the UB Art Dept when it was discarded sometime in the mid 1970's when the Dept was preparing to move over to Bethune Hall on Main Street. Catherine Catanzaro Koenig taught at UB in the 60's and 70's. This stool was old then and the paint on the seat came from decades of art students going back to the 1950's.
