Standing My Ground: A Police Officer's Fight for Accountability and Good Trouble After January 6th by Harry Dunn, 2023
I read this book very recently over the course of a week in December. It was an amazing deeply personal memoir of a Capitol Police on duty on January 6th 2020 that provides a definitive first hand account of the trump led maga insurrection against democracy in America. The fact that Harry Dunn was a black officer protecting the capitol building also graphically illustrated the racists violence perpetrated on police officers of color during the rioting of the maga trumpers in our nation's capitol. So much for conservative's blue lives matter mantra. Just more of their bullshit.
The author is clearly a hero and has shown tremendous courage to speak up and tell the truth about the terrible people who violated our democracy in the name of a sore loser despite threats to him and his family by the racists magats. It is also very exciting that Dunn has decided to run for congress.
