Traveling to Cleveland 2021

We are getting ready to take to the road tomorrow where we will be heading to Cleveland to attend the wedding of my niece Lizzie and Lewie at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The wedding was originally planned for last year but of course it was postponed. We're excited about going to the wedding but still a little nervous about Covid and the Delta variant and being in a large group. Lizzie and Lewie have taken all the necessary precautions. This morning we took a home COVID-19 test kit for each of us and came out negative as expected. We will do it again tomorrow morning before we leave just to make sure.

Becky and I have always loved traveling and especially exploring another city. We've been through Cleveland a few times but we had never stopped and spent some time there so we were very excited about this trip. We had also thought by now it would be safe.

As always when getting ready to explore a new city I did a lot of online research on restaurants, museums and other attractions. With the pandemic still raging this trip will again be a little different from our usual mode of checking out a city. I was also shocked at how many restaurants would be closed while we were there. Some permanently and others for the duration of the health issues.

We're looking forward to spending some quality time with family and to seeing the city of Cleveland.  Our days are planned.

Thursday we arrive at the hotel and we will go out to dinner at one of the many Italian restaurants in Little Italy which is about a ten minute walk down the street. On Friday we will spend most of the day at the nearby Cleveland Museum of Art and then go to the family picnic event Friday evening. On Saturday morning/early afternoon we will spend some time at the nearby Botanical Gardens before going back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding Saturday evening. We will drive back home on Sunday morning.
