London Day Three - The British Museum

The British Museum was one of of the many highlights of our trip. It was spectacular building with an incredible collection and one of the largest museums in the world. The collection included the Elgin Marbles and the Rosetta Stone. The Egyptian collection was amazing and lots of mummies. We were disappointed that many of the Greek marbles were moved to another exhibition area. We saw a lot but of course there was just too much there to see. Our guidebook from Rick Steves highly recommended visiting this museum. The glass enclosed Great Court was stunning. The Reading Room was very cool too.

We had taken the tube over to the British Museum area but first we needed to get something to eat for lunch. Near the tube station we came across the Lebanese and Palestinian restaurant Hiba. The food was good but overall the experience of the place was not great. The staff seemed to want to get us in and out quickly. Probably out least favorite restaurant of the trip.

We spent a good part of the afternoon at the British Museum and we wore ourselves out again. We took the tube back to the hotel and slept for awhile.
