Things are improving but I still hurt. I can move around better but the pain in the surgery area can be intense. It's only been five days since the surgery. I've never had pain like this before because I've never had a surgery like this before. I've never had a doctor slice into my stomach muscles, my guts and poke around like this. I've been fortunate with my health for the most part over the years.
One of the hard things about recovering from this surgery has been sleeping. I now need to sleep on my back whereas I've always been a side sleeper. No sleeping on my side now... it hurts too much. The drugs and particularly the hyrdrocodene has made it hard for me to sleep. Yesterday was the last time I took any of those narcotic drugs and already I can feel the difference.
