We had dinner at Shango which is officially called Shango New Orleans Bistro & Wine Bar. It's been one of our favorite restaurants for decades now. Tomorrow is our 45th wedding anniversary but we went out tonight since it is much easier to get last minute reservations on a Friday night rather than Saturday. I looked at a few options for tonight but we agreed it was time to visit Shango again.
We both had our usual Shango dinners. Becky had the Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich and I had the Blackened Catfish Po' Boy. Both included a nice pile of honeyed sweet potato fries and coleslaw. I also had a cup of their famous gumbo.
I started off with a draft of Duvel Belgian Blonde Ale and then a pint of Urquell Pilsner. Becky had a NA.
The service was wonderful as usual and the restaurant was crowded but too much. After we got home we went for a walk and dropped some books off at one of the neighborhood little libraries.
