Dinner Downtown

Tonight we had dinner with Dick and Iris. We got an invitation to attend a party with them and a few other folks at one of the private dining rooms in the hotel where they have their apartment.

It was a great space with lots of windows overlooking Lafayette Square. It reminded me of the many concerts we saw over the years on the Square and also my time working at the downtown public library across the street.

It turns out that the party was for Dick's birthday and there were ten people overall gathered together including Dan and Barbara with Dietrich too. The others were friends of Dick from work. We had a great time with lots of interesting conversations. The food was wonderful too and some very good deserts.

The photo here I took after the party while walking down the street to our car. We all got some leftovers too.
