We saw a robin on our front porch this morning. Spring is coming. A little later I was out in the backyard next to the sunroom and saw a fly on the window. Later we also heard the robins singing in the backyard. Not bad for early March even though there is a some snow in the backyard and the front too.
However, seeing a robin is not really a sign of spring. They can and do spend winters in the north. Now we usually don't see any robins all winter long in Buffalo at least in our backyard until early spring each year. It's just technically that robins are scientifically not a perfect determiner of the arrival of spring.
Now what about that fly. What got that one flying about our backyard in early March.
