Tonight we decided to go out for some dinner. We looked at a couple of places online for reservations but it was a Thursday night before St Patrick's Day and a lot of restaurants were booked up. So we went to one of our old standby favorite bar restaurants Cole's on Elmwood Ave at about 5:30 which was early enough to get a good table or booth.
We sat at a booth in the bar area where we could watch a little March Madness and see the happy hour crowd across the room at the bar. The place was jumping. I decided to have a Guinness on tap to start while Becky had a German beer. They had a special Irish menu of specials and we got some Irish potato pancakes to start. Becky ordered a chicken milanesse and I got a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries. Cole's has always had what I would consider the best consistent fries in the area.
We had a great dinner and I had a second Guinness on tap which was a treat. The last time I had two pints of Guinness draft on tap someplace was in Ireland in 2019.
We left the bar around 7 pm. It was a wonderful dinner.
