London Day Three - Da Mario Restaurant and Gloucester Arms Pub

Day three in London was coming to an end and we wanted to spend some time in a good restaurant and a nice pub. This was a very short three day visit to London between five days in Dublin and five days in Edinburgh. We do love spending time in London.

Once again we were going out to eat in the Kensington neighborhood near our hotel.

One of the reasons we liked staying at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel again was because of all the nearby nice restaurants and pubs. We walked a couple of blocks up the street to the Da Mario Restaurant which was a well regarded classic Italian trattoria where we had some wonderful pizza and salad. Everything we ate was excellent including the gelato.  When we got in the restaurant was very crowded and we were seated in the lower level. At first we were disappointed but it really was a party down there. We had a great time. We had tried to go there for dinner on our previous visit but it was too crowded to get a table so we tried again this time. We initially had to wait in a line to get into that restaurant and from where we were standing we could see people coming and going from the pub directly across the street. We decided to stop there for a couple of beers.

We got window seats at the Gloucester Arms Pub and we could watch people coming and going from the Da Mario directly across the street.

I had another cask pint... this time a London Glory English Bitter by Greene King Brewery.

Then we walked back to our hotel to get a good night sleep because in the morning we were getting a train to Edinburgh very early. We needed to get up at 5:30 am.
