It was a beautiful Sunday morning and Sean and Ashely took us on a nice drive over to Schenectady farmer's market and street fair located outside City Hall which they have regularly have on Sundays throughout the spring, summer and fall. We enjoyed it very much and loved watching Andrew having fun. There were many people there and lots of interesting booths for crafts and foods. There were an incredible amount of vendors. It was a very festive marketplace and also included live music. I was surprised at how many restaurants were represented there. It looked like a great place to have lunch and we could see many people having either an early lunch or a late breakfast. We saw plenty of bakeries too and Becky got some breads. We didn't get anything to eat because Ashely had other plans for lunch.
We explored the marketplace neighborhood and went down some tiny streets full of interesting stores and restaurants. We were very impressed. It was certainly a place where people living nearby have a wonderful opportunity to visit and hangout.
There was easy parking nearby and after we got back to the car Ashely drove us around to see some of the historic neighborhoods in the area. We drove by some really amazing houses as we wandered through the downtown.
Apparently we still had time before our lunch reservations so we went over to the nearby park for Andrew to play on the swings and slides. The playground in Collins Park was along the Mohawk River and across the road from the Jumpin' Jack's Drive-In restaurant where we had eaten the last time we were in town. We hung out in the park for awhile and then headed off to the restaurant they picked out for our lunch.
