Old Storehouse and the Oak Pub

Back to Dublin Day Two. We felt much better after our afternoon nap and with fresh clothes after finally getting our luggage from Philadelphia via London to our hotel in Dublin. We were in contact with Eileen and planning to meet with her and her kids sometime later in the evening in the Temple Bar neighborhood where they were staying for a couple of days.

We took the light rail train back over to the O'Conner Bridge area and walked over to the Temple Bar section of town and explored around for awhile. We had done some research on pubs and restaurants before coming to Dublin and we had some ideas as to where to eat. There certainly were plenty of places to eat and drink in this neighborhood. We went over to the Old Storehouse Temple Bar for dinner.

We had a wonderful meal of Guinness Irish Stew while listening to live music we could watch from a second floor balcony or on the TV over our table. This was a very traditional Irish pub and we enjoyed our meal very much. We had a couple of Guinness Stouts and a Five Lamps Dublin Lager from Five Lamps Brewery.

We heard from Eileen and walked over to the Oak Pub which was near where they were staying on Dame Street. Eileen was there with Dan, her sister Shiela and two of her kids Neal and Mollie. Jane had stayed back at their place. It was so nice to get together with them all but they were very tired and jet lagged as we were the night before. We had one Guinness with them and then let them get back to their place and get some rest. We would meet them again another time while we were all there in Dublin.

Becky and I walked back to the train and went back to our hotel area at The Point but decided to get off the train at the George's Dock stop and went to the Ely Bar & Brasserie that was located in the same building as the craft brewery we were at the night before. I had a Hop House 13 Lager from Guinness and Becky had a Krombacher Weisen from Krombacher Gruppe. After that we walked back to the hotel and called it a night after a very busy second day in Dublin.
