Sunday Wedding Brunch and Going Home

Sunday morning after the wedding we had a wonderful brunch at the hotel in an event room on the ground level. It had been originally scheduled at the home of a friend of Lewie's but needed to be moved after someone in that home contacted covid. They had to scramble on Friday to make the changes but it worked out fine.

We had been originally planning to skip the brunch, find a bite to eat and then get on the road but having it at the hotel changed our plans. We went down to the brunch room at a little after 10 am and there were a lot of people already there eating including Lizzie and Lewie. We got to see a lot of people one more time including our family members who were at the wedding.

Betsy, Joe, Sara, Erik, Chris and Kim were all at the table with me and Becky. The kids were at the table next to us. We also got to say goodbye to the members of the Zorzanello clan.

Later at around 11 or so Dan showed up with Nick. Both of them looked very hung over. Dan was not wearing shoes and had one of his socks on inside out. Marissa started a clapping chant as they came in the door. It was all very funny. Dan said after they got something to eat and said goodbyes they were going back upstairs and sleep through the afternoon.

It was a little funny to see Nick in this condition because last night him and I were talking about his father getting drunk as a 16 year old at my wedding and how he spend a good deal of the drive from Buffalo to Philadelphia the next day puking out the door at frequent sick stops. Nick knew all about that story. Now he has his own story of the 16 year old drunk at his sister's wedding.

Becky and I finished up our meal, grabbed a luggage cart and let the valet desk know we were coming down shortly needing our car. Ten minutes later we were checked out of the hotel and on our way home.

It was a very pleasant drive back to Buffalo. Sunny with no rain and very little traffic. Nice. We were home by three.
