Hotel Henry Closing

"The pandemic body blow to our community was overwhelming for Henry,"

We saw today that Hotel Henry is closing because of the loss of business due to the pandemic. I read about this in the Buffalo News and a couple of the local TV station websites and nobody is saying anything about the 100 Acres Restaurant in the building. I truly hope that restaurant will somehow survive.

There has been a lot of discussion of Hotel Henry in the local media today and later in the day I saw that the Hilton chain will be reopening the complex in April. There is already information about the hotel on their website although they are not taking reservations yet. Perhaps in the long run it will be better for the Richardson Complex that a hotel chain is involved.

We have gone to that restaurant many times in the past few years that the hotel and restaurant that opened in 2017.  The food has always been wonderful and we always had a wonderful experience there. The bar has always been very nice too. I think we have probably had dinner there at least six times in the two years it was open before the pandemic.

The Hotel also was a great place to see artwork that was displayed throughout the second floor of the building. So sad.

Because of the historic nature of the building and all the money that has gone into the renovation I'm sure the hotel will reopen at some time in some way. There are also plans for the other adjacent buildings that were all part of the original psych center. It really is an amazing building and site.
