Brian: This is a sad day for democracy, similar to China media. One side is being silenced while the other side is protected...sad

Katie: I guess one side shouldn't violate terms of service and incite violence.

Brian: Stop the hate, left did this all summer. #doyourhomework

And then he posted a meme containing pictures of destruction in Portland after a confrontation with police.

Sara: I must not have been paying attention all summer. When did the “left” attempt to subvert democracy?

Brian: When they stormed the white house and the president was moved to the bunker. Was that a peaceful protest?

Sara: Oh, that’s right. They stood outside the gates and threw bottles Sometimes bottles get broken when one has to ask, then beg, to demand equality.

Katie: I am talking about what happened this week. They built a gallows, broke into the Capitol building, tried to find Pence and members of congress as they chanted about hanging them. They beat a cop to death, crushed to death a fellow protestor. Broke into the Senate chambers with guns, bear spray and zip ties but got in only a minute after the senators were clear. There were pipe bombs nearby. All for a big lie, that the election was stolen, that the votes of majority black and brown communities shouldn't be counted. It's not a conspiracy that people are outraged and horrified by what happened this week.

Sara: Brian, this argument is completely flawed. Besides stating a false equivalence, you’re appropriating sanction by the way you compare them.

Katie: Parler was taken down because users were using it to break the law by planning another attack on the Capitol. Parler's refusal to moderate opened other companies up to criminal liability. If Parler had kicked off the people doing illegal shit, it would still be available to everyone else.

Betsy: He's gonna look pretty good in an orange prison suit.

Phil: I believe it has been a sad four years for democracy. Whether realized or not, we have heard racist dog whistles replaced with bullhorns. The same can be said for calls for insurrection. When Obama was President, I felt safe, and I will feel safe once again, when Biden is sworn into office.

My turn.

I will say that Brian is right about the sad time in America... and it has been for at least the past four years. And he is right that part of the problem has been the China media propaganda used by the current administration to attack the free press using a foreign billionaire owned and operated network that attempts to silence all media outlets while providing a "safe place" for the soon to be ex-president to spew lies and misinformation. Every day where he is surrounded by sycophants on a network with blood on their hands. The China media mentioned here is also Russian media and what trump has been striving for since Putin smoothed the way for him with the propaganda that continues today.  According to trump all the other networks are socialist leftist stations that don't like him. I take a look at Fox everyday to see where they are talking about and it is always different from all the other networks. 

I've occasionally tuned in to the RT News which is the English speaking Russian Television channel that brings the Russian perspective to global news. It's often Fox News and RT News with one perspective and the rest of world including every other American network with the opposite view. Go figure. Or as Brian says... #doyourhomework

The issue has also become Capitalism vs Fascism and not just about the tech companies. The following corporations have withheld donations and financial support for the 147 republican members of congress who have supported trump's lies and attempts to overthrow the government.

AT&T, Dow Chemical, Commerce Bank, Marriott, Verizon, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, American Express, Airbnb, 3M, Citigroup, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, UPS, JPMorgan, Hilton, Visa, Ford, Hallmark, Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Comcast, Microsoft, Charles Schwab, Comcast, Deloitte, Google, Salesforce, Best Buy, General Electric, American Airlines, BP, Morgan Stanley.  Walmart, Delta, ExxonMobil, CVS, FedEx will be added today and the list will continue to expand.

What a difference a day makes... the issue is no longer about a few tech companies "silencing" a "leader" for insurrection. Now it is corporate America taking sides against domestic terrorism. It's Capitalism vs. Fascism. And now McConnell will let the Senate impeach him too.
