Reagan: His Life and Legend by Max Boot, 2024. I just read this last month and it took a while. This was a very good revisionist biography. I had read a lot about Reagan over the years but this was a unique perspective that decades of hindsight can give. Max Boot did a great job cutting through all the Reagan bullshit and hero worship. But it still took about 700 pages.

The title is very apt. The Live and Legend. Yes, much of what we know about Reagan is really legend and not fact. Not life. This book also clearly illustrated how this bigoted ignorant Hollywood joker conman and his nasty wife set the stage for the maga dystopia world we now live in. He made it happen. His only talent was his goofy smile and ability to tell people whatever they wanted to hear... and all lies. This book was very revealing. He had no real values except conservative racist bigotry.
