Love For Sale: Pop Music in America by David Hadju, 2016
This was a very quick read in February 2017. This was a very interesting personal history of popular music from a well known music critic, historian and biographer. The book was well researched and with some fresh insights into pop music history and the social influence of the music on American society. I didn't necessarily agree with all of his opinions but it was a very entertaining read. I found his section of the digitalization of music to be very fascinating.
He began his description of popular music back in the 19th century and through the vaudeville years. The on trough the many musical facets, trends and technologies of the 20th century.
