An evening listening to the amazing mandolin music of David Grisman. He combines bluegrass, folk and jazz into something he calls "dawg music". We started off with the David Grisman Quintet album from 1977 and then followed that with his Hot Dawg album from 1978 which has always been one of my favorite records. I just hadn't listened to it in awhile.I followed them up with a couple of David Grisman Tone Poem albums from 1994 and 1995. They are acoustic albums with Grisman on mandolin with guitarist Tony Rice and Martin Taylor.
These albums made for a very pleasant experience and a blast from the past too.
