Sean gave me this book for Christmas last year and it spent several months sitting next to my upstairs reading chair. This was the kind of book that I would read bits and pieces of it over a larger period of time than I normally take with a book. Part of the reason was that it was something that was always around and not a limited time library book. It was also because of the way it was written. It was a year by year account of the music that had an influence on the author.
I enjoyed reading this very much and particularly loved the way he associated music with current events year by year.
