We had a wonderful dinner tonight at one of our favorite restaurants which we haven't been to in a long time. I think we've been there only once in the past three years and that was just to stop by for a drink after an art opening on Allen Street.
Tonight we wanted to have a nice dinner somewhere before going over to the art opening at Hallwalls. We talked about a few places in the downtown area but it was a Friday night and expected to be busy. I then suggested Cafe 59 on Allen. It was a great pick. We parked at our usual spot on Franklin and walked down the street to the restaurant. It was surprising not very busy at about 6:15 on a Friday evening. There were plenty of empty tables on their recently expanded covered outside patio but we opted for a table next to the front window in the dining room. We had a great view of the people walking on Allen.
I had a wonderful fish and chips dinner and Becky loved her turkey wrap. My fish dinner with potato wedges was done perfectly. Loved the cole slaw too. Becky's turkey wrap also had candied walnuts, gorgonzola, dried cranberries and balzamic vinaigrette. I'm going to order that one the next time we are there.
I had a nice Zero Gravity Green State Lager.
And of course we ran into people we know there.
