Venezuela - My Time

All of the crazy trump regime threats and illegal activities concerning Venezuela has been personally very disturbing to me because of my time in that beautiful country and the amazing experiences I had with the wonderful people there. So many nice memories. 

During the early 1970's I spent several years serving in the Navy's Caribbean Ready Group and I traveled extensively throughout the many countries and islands in the region including Venezuela. When my ship anchored in the bay near Caracas we were there as friends. We were there for R&R and we enjoyed ourselves. The people of Venezuela welcomed us and we traveled around seeing the sights including the nearby mountains. Over the years I've read a lot about the history of that country and have kept up with current affairs like I do with so many of the countries I visited during my times overseas.

I should add that I was there before the oil crises and the government at that time was democratically elected. The oil brought on the dictatorships.
