Restaurant Decisions...

Becky and I went out with Dave and Donna this evening for dinner. It was a little amusing coming up with a place to eat. I initiated the discussion with a phone message to Dave in the early afternoon... "Becky and I are going out to dinner tonight... join us?" Dave quickly responded "Where and what time?". I said "5:30-6 ish. Casual. Any suggestions? We're flexible." Dave then said "The Wellington?". 

Well, we had to laugh about that. It's been many years since we've been to the Wellington Pub on Hertel. The food was OK but the restaurant itself was always a little yucky and not very clean. But after Becky and I talked about it we figured maybe it's better now. They had done some renovation in recent years. Katie had been there recently and said it was OK.

So I responded... "Ok, we haven't been there since they renovated. Meet you there what time?" The answer was "5:30".  Then we talked a little about the renovation. Dave thought it looked the same to him. It turned out the renovation was new doors and some work done in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was the same.

Then Dave texted "No fish fry on Thursdays though". I said "I'm good with wraps or sandwiches but would you rather go tomorrow for the fish fry?" Then he said "Or we could go to Curry's for a fish fry tonight".

That was it. First the Wellington and now Curry's. Two of our least favorite restaurants in the area. I said to Becky give your brother a call and let's decided on a restaurant that we want to go to. They talked for a bit and then Dave suggested Cole's.

We met them at Cole's and had a very nice dinner. I had one of those Drunken Pumpkins too.
