This evening Becky and I had a wonderful time down at the Liberty Hound with some old friends. We unexpectedly ran into Gail and Wendell last month at the Adirondack Hotel up in Long Lake and said we should get together when we got back to Buffalo. Well, we texted and made arrangements to meet them down on the waterfront at 5 pm. We had some beers, fish tacos and lots of french fries. We also had lots of great conversation. It had been awhile since we've seen them but it felt like we were just continuing right where we left off.
We had a nice table on the patio in the shade overlooking the USS Little Rock with a nice breeze coming off the lake. It was good we got there early in the evening because it got very crowded very quickly. We sat there for about an hour and a half and then walked a little down Canalside and took a look at the new carousel that recently opened. It started clouding up and it was looking like a storm was coming so we cut our walk short, called it a night and headed back to our cars but not before deciding to do this again some time soon. We picked the restaurant at the Casino on the lake in Delaware Park that none of us had been to yet. Looking forward to seeing them again.
This also made up for our frustrated attempt last week to have dinner at the Liberty Hound that I wrote about here and we needed to do something to feel better after our bad news today about needing to replace our entire heating and cooling system.
According to FB memories Becky and I were at the Liberty Hound nine years ago and I had a lobster roll for dinner.
