Dinner on Thursday evening of our third day in London was a few blocks south of our hotel at a Bumpkins Pub, a nice contemporary restaurant featuring British pub food. We had fish and chips, shepherd's pie, pudding. Becky had some home made ice cream.
We had a great time there but then we saw a group of American tourists acting like... well, cliched American tourists. They were from the South judging by their accents and they were acting like jerks and being obnoxious. It made us cringe. They were sitting across from us and we could see and hear everything. Oh well. We hadn't much of that kind of behavior during our trip but it was expected. At this pub I had a Camden Hells Lager and a Chufton IPA.
On the way back we stopped at the Hereford Arms Pub down the street from the hotel. I had confused this pub with the Stanhope Arms across the street from the hotel. I had the Hereford Arms on my list because it was a Fuller's pub. Well, I had a couple more cask beers. I had a Fuller's ESB cask bitter and a cask Fuller's London Pride, a classic English mild bitter. Lots of soccer here too. A nice way to end another long eventful day.Me at the Bumpkin Pub.
