We've been watching a lot of the BBC gardening television series Gardeners' World and the various Monty Don garden from around the world shows. We started watching his shows regularly last year and suddenly it was part of our television routine especially when we would get tired of watching the news shows. Watching his programs have been a serious relief with all the election results news.
He is a very fascinating and knowledgeable presenter of all things related to gardens. It is interesting to note that he has never had any formal training as a gardener.
The last time Katie and the kids were staying with us we were watching some Monty Don and Clara liked it very much and wanted to keep watching while exclaiming how beautiful the flowers and gardens were. She loved it.
So the two programs I watch to get away from all the magat news has been this Monty Don garden shows and going to YouTube to watch classical or jazz concerts. With both of these alternative programs we have on the television while we are also doing other things around the house as a background. But of course there are moments when a particular garden or a piece of music calls to us.
