Becky and I had dinner at the Steer this evening. Again. It's close by and one of our favorite places to grab a nice dinner. And have a couple of good beers on tap too. We've been going to the Steer regularly for years, for decades even. We first started going there when we lived on the West Side and then from our house on Shirley Ave which was only a few blocks away and now from our home in Parkside less than ten minutes away. It's an old standby for a good nearby bar restaurant. The food has always been outstanding.
Tonight we saw a few tables of students with their parents. It's been moving in day this week for students from the several nearby colleges and universities. The Steer has always been a good place for students and their parents because of the huge variety of good quality food including many vegan offerings on the menu. It was that way once again today.
We started off with a nice salad and Becky ordered one of there wonderful classic pizzas. I had a chicken sandwich along with sweet potato fries. Of course I had a slice of that great pizza too. I also had a couple of draft beers. A Harp Lager and a Hazy IPA from Goose Island. Becky had a Stella.
It was a wonderful evening there as usual.
