This was a wonderful biography of jazz singer Sarah Vaughan with a tremendous impact not only on jazz but also women's issues and civil rights. I think the author told her story brilliantly and not being a jazz writer made the book that more engrossing. I read this in less than a week. I couldn't put it down and had never realized how much I didn't know about Sarah Vaughan although I loved her music.
