Age of Anger: A History of the Present by Pankaj Mishra, 2017
Read in February 2018.
The author explores the wave of paranoid fear and hatred throughout the world in the 21st century that is expressed in racism and misogyny on social media and the embracing of demagogues such as trump. Mishra is an Indian novelist and essayist.
The book is full of literary, historical and cultural facts analysed by the author and applied to the political challenges in the world.
I found the book to be an interesting attempt to explain what the heck is going on in the world today including our own country.
